News Magazine- always have a glossy front and back cover. Some news magazine have glossy all the way through and other have newspaper inside. The regular size is the sheet of a piece of paper. Will have no stories and just have a picture.

Tabloid- news print and they are small. Will have two-three stories

Elements in the Eagles Eye- Website, Headline, Main photo, Name of the Newspaper.

The Name of the Newspaper is called the "Flag"

Stories on all pages

Who wrote what and the name and title of the writer

Jump- When a stories that starts one place then finishes at another place.

Graphics are used a lot, the name of the person who did the design.

Table of contents- tells where stuff is located at.

Kicker(the blue triangle at the beginning of the story) - It kick off the story.

On opinions page is called  Masthead.

Masthead elements- staff box, editorial policy, organization and the awards that we won from those.

We have the authors picture only for the opinions page if it it said from the person who said it.

Front Pages of the World

My favorite newspaper front page was in Texas and it was about the west explosion aftermath.

My favorite headline was "We Lost It All". I like it because it sounded really interesting.

There are six stories on my favorite front page.

They all have a really big picture that is somewhere near the center and then there are other stories that are at the bottom of the page and there is also a rectangle box on the sides that have stuff in them.

Some have photos before the header and also the text size and color are different.

Beards

http://laughingsquid.com/beard-a-photobook-of-the-world-beard-moustache-champions/

Thing that looked at this website was a couple pictures of men with beards. Some of these beards were just straight up weird and freaky. For example the the first photo with the man that had a hat on and his beard that looks like a snake. And of course there was one that was a normal one but it was just really long.

Something that i learned new was that they hold a contest to see which beard is the best. Another thing that i learned is that photographers take pictures of these men with a weird beards.

a. I chose this photo because it look some what the normal-ist of the three. I know that the last one is shorter but this one look more normal because it was all straight rather than the other one.
b. The rule of photography that i see in this photo is the leading lines because the lines in his beards because it leads to his face and the rest of his beard.
c. Rusty Blazenhoff

No tutorial on this website.

a.Some things that i saw in the website were three men with oddly long beards. Another thing i saw was that there were some rule of photography in each of the photos. Lastly there were swirls on there eyes with the colors of black and gray.
b.I learned that people take photographs of people with long and weird beards.
c.This site related to photography because each of the photos have at least one of the rules of photography.

Dog in need of help

Simplicity, Cropping,
Human Interest, Proximity, Conflict, Timeliness
This was exposed properly.
The light comes from behind the photographer.

This is a prime lens and we can tell because it has a bigger aperture.

I would make this photo better by showing the whole body. Also since he is a humane society show him in a cage.

Lenses and Photography Vocabulary

I would use a telephoto lens to capture an image when i am a little father away.

I would use a prime lens to take an image when it is some what dark out side instead of in the bright day light.

I would use a wide-angle lens to get the whole image. When a object is to large i would use this lens to capture the image.

Depth of Field (shallow and wide)- The distance between the nearest and the furthest objects that give an image judged to be in focus in a camera.

Light (angle and intensity)- Light can affect a photo by giving off to much of it and therefore it will just make the photo come out all white. And is there is not enough light then it will just come out really dark.

Shadows Diffusion- Shadows can play a role in photography. It can create a sense of going with the picture. The shadows can cover up some light which help the photo.

Exposure- the amount of light allowed to fall on each area unit of a photographic medium. This helps out by giving light in certain places where it is needed.

Aperture (f-stop)- the variable opening by which light enters a camera. This can also help a photo by see how much light is able to pass through.

Shutter speed- the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open. This can help a photo by letting in a certain amount of light. Increasing the shutter speed decreases the amount of light that get in.

ISO- measures the sensitivity of the image sensor

5 Websites

http://blog.tomolesnevich.com/personal-projects/#nyc-by-bike

In the link above I looked at photos of a bike traveling through NYC. In each photo it shows where the person on the bicycle went and sort of gives a tour of NYC.

Something that I learned new is that many people travel on foot or by bicycle.

Post your favorite photo.
a.)I picked this photo because it backs up my opinion in the first sentence.
b.)The rule of photography that I see in this photo is avoiding merges and rule of thirds.
c.)Tom Olesnevich
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the link above I look at photos of dead trees. In these photo it shows one dead tree next to a bunch of icing trees.

In the link above I looked at photos of where there is a glare of sunlight or a bright light. In each of these photos they have one thing in common and it is that they all have a glare of light.

Something that I learned new is that for many years in photography, lens flare was actively avoided by photographers. Flare, which is basically light scattered within the lens due to unplanned reflection and lens impurities

Post your favorite photo.

Types of Magazine Cover

1.) Early Magazine Cover- In this type of magazine cover there are no descriptive words that tell you what it is going to be about. The table of contents that we have now was not always there. In the 1700s and 1800s the table of contents and book title had only co-existed. If there was a magazine that had no descriptive word and there was a table of contents and had no cover and started on the first page like a newspaper then i would know that it would be a Early Magazine Cover. The cover had nothing to do with what was in the book and it would just tempt the people to buy it.

2.) The Poster Cover- In this type of magazine cover the cover of the book looks almost like as if it was framed in a museum. Also this magazine cover has cover lines that tend to blend into place with the photo. If you were given a photo that had all of the above attributes then you would be able to identify it as a Poster Cover.

3.) Pictures Married to Types- This type of magazine cover more cover lines that hooks the reader by the picture. In this type of cover there will be a huge title and the person will be overlapping part of the title. Also the person will be in a unusual position that looks normal but feels weird. Another thing is that It will always be most of the body that is shown. As well as posture there will always be the element of placement and where the person in the cover is. There will also be two columns of text that somewhat boxes the person.

4.)  In the Forest of Words- In this type of  cover image and cover lines will overlap. Cover lines will appear in front of the cover model. In this they use there surroundings to tempt the buyer to buy it. If you see a cover that has cover lines overlapping and cover lines in front of the model then you will know that the cover will be Forest of the words cover magazine.

11.)The editors’ description of the cover: "American Photohas devoted the heart of its September/October issue to an 18-page oral history of 9/11/01 based on the recollections of the photographers who risked their lives to cover the story. Though there was no shortage of iconic images we could have used, in this case, we felt less was more. The somber black and white image (shot by NYU student Yoni Brook) projected a reflective calm and quiet emblematic of the story we were telling. After much internal discussion, we opted to remove all cover lines apart from the minimalist one you see here."

In this photograph there is a fire fighter and he is on top of the rubble that a fire burned down. The lighting in this photograph would have had to be turned up very high since the lighting that is natural is pretty low.

Choice Sheet Re-Do

I would like to go into yearbook. Some aspects that had influenced me to go into this class is because you do not have to write a lot of paragraphs about the subject. Another reason why i chose this class is because you can go out and take more photos and do little captions.

Welcome Back!

This is one of my favorite because it really just caught my eye when I looked at it.

This is one of my favorite because this photo was shot differently probably since the snowflake is os small.

This is also my favorite because it really looks kinda scary if you were just taking care of your business and just looked down and saw this.

The best song of the year 2012 is Gangnam Style.
The best movie of the year 2012 is Marvel The Avengers.

The most important news is when  20-year-old Adam Lanza forced his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., and shot dead 20 children — all ages 6 and 7 — and six staff members in the second-worst school massacre in U.S. history.

Something that happened to me during the holiday was that I had started watching a new show that I love now.

One of my resolution is to not drink any soda for this year.

Something that I'm looking forward to this year is to have a lot of fun.
